Digging in the Dirt

WP_20160207_11_50_51_Rich_LIAfter a few weeks off from gardening, I found myself digging in the dirt again this last weekend.  Weeds had taken over one of the flower beds and I decided that it is much better to take care of them now versus doing battle later in the season when I’m planting.  Digging in the dirt is so therapeutic, I just love it.

Santa, by way of my husband, made sure IWP_20160207_14_09_10_Rich_LI started the year with updated equipment.  A new garden cart, gloves and other planting tools awaited my discovery under the Christmas tree.  I love all my new treasures and made good use of them in cleaning up the bed.  The cart is perfect to hold all my tools and discarded weeds as I work my way down the bed.

WP_20160207_14_07_06_Rich_LIMy husband followed up my efforts with mulch to help keep the bed less weedy.  🙂

Happy Gardening,  Sheri
